About Us

Maine is a beautiful state filled with breathtaking landscapes – from the rugged coastline to the lush forests and peaceful ponds in Baxter State Park. Baxter, named after the 53rd governor of the State of Maine who donated the land for the park, is also home to Mt. Katadhin – the tallest peak in the state. Summiting Baxter is more challenging than it looks, requiring hikers to scramble up rock faces and across boulder fields to reach the top. Though it’s an exhausting climb, those who make it up are rewarded with incredible views of the park below. This view is Maine at its finest.

It was on one of our journeys up our beloved Katadhin that we got the idea to start the Baxter Blog. Maine, though the self-proclaimed Vacationland, is a place that’s often underrated and underestimated. Perhaps because of its ruggedness, extreme winters, or how remote it is tucked up in this Northeastern corner of the country, not many people have experienced the magic of Maine. It became our goal to share the best of Maine with others, taking the delicious treats produced in the Pine Tree State and sending it out for the rest of the country to enjoy. Here we have cultivated a collection of articles about food and drink from some of the most notable artisans, bakers, and brewers in the state. We hope you get to enjoy a little piece of our state!
